50 Years of Rosen Inn - The Rosen Closest to Universal

Pop the Champagne! We’re celebrating another Golden Anniversary in 2025.

In 2024, Rosen Hotels & Resorts celebrated a momentous occasion: the company’s 50th anniversary, when our fearless founder, Harris Rosen, purchased his first Orlando hotel.

Exactly one year later, on June 24, 1975, a second hotel was added to the portfolio, a property that today is known as Rosen Inn closest to Universal.

This year, we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of our second Rosen hotel, which is the closest Rosen hotel to Universal.

Of course, the recognition is bittersweet after the loss of Mr. Rosen in November of 2024.

Mr. Rosen’s legacy, commitment to hospitality, and love for his associates and guests is alive and well at Rosen Inn.

Monique Harrilal is the general manager at Rosen Inn, and she takes great pride in upholding Mr. Rosen's memory and passion for people in her work.

Here’s a closer look at what makes Rosen Inn worth celebrating, with loving insight from Harrilal.

Small, Mighty, and Beloved

With only 315 guest rooms, Rosen Inn is the smallest hotel in the Rosen Hotels & Resorts portfolio.

“We’re small, but mighty,” says Harrilal. “We have a breakfast buffet, a Japanese restaurant, a game room, a fitness center, and an onsite market.”

Additionally, of the four Rosen Inn properties, Rosen Inn is the only one that has a building with indoor corridors and suites available.

Harrilal also believes the intimate size of the hotel has lent itself to a unique work environment for associates.

“Because it’s smaller, it’s very family oriented. It’s like a second family. We look out for each other. A lot of people have been working here for decades.”

Returning guests come back for the same reason, too.

“The people,” says Harrilal. “That’s what keeps our guests coming back.”

Adventure is Never Far from Rosen Inn

What makes Rosen Inn so special?

Our proximity to Universal Orlando Resort and Universal’s Volcano Bay water park.

When Mr. Rosen first purchased the property in 1975, he had no idea its location would one day become its defining feature.

In 1990, over 15 years later, Universal Orlando opened its first theme park – Universal Studios Florida, two miles down the road from the hotel.

Nine years later, Universal’s second park, Islands of Adventure, opened only steps away from Universal Studios Florida.

Rosen Inn became an immediate destination for families and individuals traveling to Orlando and looking for comfortable and budget-friendly accommodations.

Then, in 2017, Universal’s Volcano Bay water park opened its doors one mile from the hotel.

In fact, when standing at the front entrance of Rosen Inn, you get a great view of the towering Krakatau volcano, which glows and billows steam at night.

As a Universal Partner Hotel, Rosen Inn offers benefits like complimentary shuttles to Universal parks, including the brand-new Universal’s Epic Universe.

Dinner and a Show at Shogun Japanese Steakhouse

Another feature that makes Rosen Inn truly unique is Shogun Japanese Steakhouse.

This exciting teppanyaki restaurant is entertaining, family-friendly, and absolutely delicious.

Similar to hibachi, teppanyaki showcases the skills of specially trained chefs at a grill top table for a dining experience full of showmanship and culinary expertise.

Diners can enjoy freshly grilled seafood, steak, and chicken, all served with steaming fried rice and steaming vegetables.

The esteemed Sakura Sushi bar and a menu of signature cocktails, beer, wine, and sake round out a delicious meal that’s full of flavor and fun.

For decades, Shogun also held the esteemed honor of being Mr. Rosen’s favorite restaurant.

It’s where he would celebrate his birthday every year with family and friends, as well as special holidays and momentous occasions.

“I’m always talking about Shogun,” Harrilal shares, “because it was Mr. Rosen’s favorite restaurant.”

As Orlando’s tourism and hospitality industry continues to grow, Rosen Inn looks forward to many more years of hosting guests.

In true Rosen fashion, the team is always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and make every stay memorable.

“We’re always going to grow with our guests and help them. We’re here for our guests,” Harrilal says with pride. “We’re always looking for ways we can provide better service, since people come back because of the guest service.”

If you’re looking for a welcoming, convenient, and budget-friendly place to stay for your next trip to Orlando, we invite you to celebrate and stay with us at Rosen Inn.

We look forward to hosting you soon!
