Family Friendly Halloween Celebrations in Orlando

It’s no secret that we love Halloween in Orlando.

But while we’re known for our truly terrifying and scream-worthy events, we also have plenty of activities for families to enjoy throughout the spooky season.

Here are some of our favorite family-friendly Halloween celebrations in Orlando to consider exploring with your little ones this year.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom

Select Evenings Aug. 9 – Oct. 31, 2024, 7:00 p.m. - Midnight

The program for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party held in front of Cinderella's Castle and a gloomy sky.

If there’s one thing Disney World knows how to do, it’s family-friendly entertainment. Their annual Halloween celebration, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, is no exception.

This separately ticketed event is a favorite among Disney and Halloween fans alike. You’ll see familiar characters dressed in their Halloween finest including Mickey, Minnie, and for the first time ever, Bruno Madrigal from the movie “Encanto.”

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is the perfect way to spot some of your favorite classic Disney characters and a wicked assortment of dastardly Disney villains. This year, the parade will be held at an earlier time of 8:15 p.m. to make it a little more family-friendly for younger guests with earlier bedtimes.

You won’t want to miss the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular at Cinderella’s Castle, a jaw-dropping show with lasers, projections, fireworks, and more.

While you’re close to the castle, catch a performance of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular on the Cinderella Castle Stage. Hosted by the sinister Sanderson Sisters, you’ll see guest appearances from villains like Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier accompanied by amazing dancers and otherworldly special effects.

Experience the magic of Disney World at Halloween as you visit your favorite rides and attractions throughout Magic Kingdom. Some of them, like Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party, have an extra-eerie vibe throughout the event with spooky music and special effects.

Enjoy specialty Halloween-inspired food and beverages that you can only find during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and of course, shop event-exclusive merchandise that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

There is so much to explore at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that makes it well worth the price of admission. Tickets range between $109 - $189 for attendees ages 3 – 9, and $119 - $199 for those ages 10 and older.

The ticket only includes admission for the event from 4:00 p.m. until midnight, so if you want to spend all day in Magic Kingdom, you’ll still need a separate park ticket.

Happy Frights at Leu Gardens

Select dates Sep. 27 – Oct. 31, 2024

During the day, the Harry P. Leu Gardens is a botanical wonderland with 50 acres of lush tropical and native flora. While it’s a beautiful place to explore with the whole family any time of year, their new Happy Frights Halloween event is the perfect time to visit for some extra seasonal fun.

Leu Gardens is introducing two brand new Halloween experiences this year: Happy Frights and Haunting Nights. Happy Frights is the perfect event for smaller children and families, whereas Happy Frights is better suited for grownups and teenagers seeking a few thrilling scares.

Happy Frights features 12 immersive worlds scattered throughout the gardens and connected by a guided path. You may find yourself exploring a mysterious swamp with larger-than-life wildlife, a festive and colorful Dia de Muertos celebration, a world of clowns in the Crazy Carnival, and so many other unique and slightly spooky experiences.

As you make your way through the gardens, you can trick-or-treat at stations throughout the event.

Tickets range from $27 - $30 for kids and grownups, and onsite parking can be purchased ahead of time for an additional $16.

Everyone is invited to come dressed in their costumes (with a few minor safety rules to follow). There’s even a costume contest every Friday in October. If you purchase a reusable trick-or-treat bag at select SeaWorld retailers, you can enjoy collecting candy along the Trick-or-Treat Trail.

There will be plenty of Halloween fun waiting for you with events like the Scarecrow Halloween Dance Party and storytelling in the Pumpkin Garden with the mystical Pumpkin Queen. Kids can participate in Halloween coloring and crafts as they explore the Trick-or-Treat trail.

Sesame Street fans will adore the Sesame Street Halloween Parade, a colorful, musical event with familiar friends like Elmo, The Count, and Big Bird. You can also catch Big Bird telling his favorite Halloween stories throughout the day at his nest during Storytime with Big Bird.

Upgrade your experience with Count von Count’s Spooktacular Breakfast for a morning full of family-friendly Halloween fun and tasty breakfast with some of your favorite Sesame Street characters.

Of course, all of these exciting Halloween events are in addition to everything a visit to SeaWorld Orlando has to offer.
